Mary Miller OTR/L is a California licensed occupational therapist who works with the pediatric population, age 0-18.
Mary’s therapeutic perspective has pushed her to research, understand, and improvise in many situations. What is unique about her strategy is her adaptability, energy, and tenacity! From the NICU to adults, treating the whole person is her framework.
Mary has provided occupational therapy services in Australia, Chicago, Alexandria, Virginia, and now Southern California. She was able to work with the flying doctors, spread a wellness message on the Australian radio, and sail the Indian Ocean! Traveling and living around the globe has given Mary an invaluable perspective on how important it is to keep the treatment goals client centered and meaningful to each individual’s lifestyle.
Mary received her BS degree in occupational therapy from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee with independent study honors. She has presented as a SME (subject-matter expert) for occupational therapy in various capacities such as Cedars Sinai Grand Rounds, expert witness for therapy related cases, and as a trainer for assisted living staff. She is certified in swallowing and feeding disorders as well as infant massage. She brings her yoga background into many treatment plans.
Mary’s experience constantly reminds her that what she may consider important to achieve, may not be the goal for her client. Therapy is only successful when the client sets the goal and is motivated to achieve that goal.
