Judy McLaughlin
I am Judy McLaughlin. Counseling and working with children and adolescents is my passion. I was raised by a mother who dedicated her life to educating children. She believed that the seeds she planted through her contacts with children would grow to help for generations to come. I have seen the fruits of her labor of love. I have been working with children and families for the past 23 years. I truly love what I do. I am a wife, mother of two remarkable teens and an advocate for kids. I graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (GO HEELS!!!) and have a masters in counseling from Lenoir Rhyne University. I have provided training and support to parents, students, and counselors at the regional, state, and national level. I am licensed as a License Professional Counselor and Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist as well as holding national certifications. I have worked in schools, agency and in private practice. One main theme is that I don’t believe in the words quit, can’t or won’t… Where there is a will there is a way. Research shows us that children are resilient and that the best protective factor is to provide network of support. I hope to not only provide this support for the students that I work with but also the parents and families of these students. I believe every step made in a counseling session is a small journey toward goals and dreams. It is my job to help guide and support students along this journey.
