Jahneen King

It is a pleasure to introduce myself and to be a member of the Global Teletherapy team. My name is Jahneen King. I am originally from Brooklyn, New York and lived in Bronx, New York for 10 years and Brooklyn, New York for 4 years. I was raised in Florida mostly and as a child I did live in a couple of other states as well. My family are from Port of Spain,Trinidad and Belize. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family and children, swimming, art, listening to music, dancing, exercising, attending festivals and carnivals.

In 2002 I graduated from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Therapy. In 2003 I attained my occupational therapy registration and license. As an occupational therapist I have experience working with adults in the hospital and various nursing home settings. I have worked with a variety of people with various physical and psychiatric disabilities i.e. spinal cord, traumatic brain injury, schizophrenia, bipolar, etc. As an occupational therapist I also have experience working with the pediatric population from toddler to age 18 years of age. I have worked in various special education and general education settings in schools and outpatient clinics. I also had the pleasure of working as a New York City Department of Education employee where I attained certification as a handwriting specialist with the Handwriting Without Tears program and certification as a PuzzleArt Therapist and training in Get Ready to Learn Movement program, Move to Improve program. I also have experience working in the home health setting with both adults and children and now teletherapy.
