¬†Global Teletherapy’s COVID-19 Rescue Response

The response to the COVID-19 virus is unprecedented. Because of our unique role in children‚Äôs K-12 education, we feel a responsibility to do what we can to assist schools, therapists and students with this transition to online learning and seclusion. To ensure that our students remain engaged and supported, our therapists will be providing complimentary ‚ÄúSupport Sessions‚ÄĚ to the country‚Äôs youth. We will also be assisting schools by training therapists for remote therapy.

Check out the message from Global Teletherapy’s COO, Mark Goldman, below.

Student Support Sessions

As the number of homebound students grows exponentially every day, we want to ensure that¬†students remain engaged and healthy. Our therapists will be providing complimentary¬†‚ÄúSupport Sessions‚ÄĚ to the country‚Äôs youth.¬†These ¬Ĺ hour Support Sessions will be held daily through June. They will range in age formats to discuss specific concerns. The group sessions will focus on keeping the students calm and engaged while homebound due to the current situation. Watch all our sessions here.

2020 Seniors and COVID-19: How to Help Them Cope with Disappointment

Getting to the End of a Rocky Road

Born in the aftermath of Sept. 11, 2001, most seniors this year were first graders during the housing crash and subsequent recession. And as they grew up, social media exploded and the country suffered its worst period for mass school shootings in American history, with more than 300 students and staff casualties at more than 65 campus shootings since 2017.

All of this would be plenty to reflect upon as they complete their K-12 careers and begin to reflect on what comes next. But now the new Coronavirus has disrupted their lives, replacing the excitement of their senior year with burning questions.

North Carolina Cyber Academy

We have heard nothing but positive comments about North Carolina Cyber Academy since we began working with them in September. Our SLP, OT, and Mental Health therapists have raved about how organized the school is and how much they love working with the people there. Administration at the school is always positive and friendly and they are quick to respond to any emails they receive. It is an all-around positive environment for people to work in, as everyone works well together and thinks highly of each other.

Here’s a little bit about North Carolina Cyber Academy:

The NC Legislature authorized a pilot program for online charter schools in 2014 and NCCA opened in 2015 as North Carolina Connections Academy. Starting in the 2019-2020 school year, NCCA chose to operate with more local control and oversight and changed the name to North Carolina Cyber Academy. Over the years, NCCA has built a tight-knit school community that offers quality education to create a well-rounded student experience for those who need or desire alternatives to traditional brick and mortar institutions. The school is open to all North Carolina students from kindergarten to 12th grade. In 2019, NCCA hosted its largest graduation to-date, bestowing diplomas on 177 seniors.
