Mitigating Learning Loss While Keeping Kids Happy this Summer
When it comes to the yearly challenge of mitigating learning loss for students, education leaders are very concerned as they brace for an even worse “summer slide” this year, due to COVID-19. Research suggests that the “COVID slide” is expected to be far worse than in previous years.
In recent research, the Northwest Evaluation Association (a research-based not-for-profit organization that creates academic assessments for students pre-K-12) found that, on average, students lose anywhere between two weeks to two months of academic growth over the summer. But those NWEA projections wouldn’t necessarily apply this year. Read more here.

Therapist of the Month
Jessica is our Lead OT Assessor for Inspire. She has stepped up to help out in training new OT assessors, as well as assist in creating an assessment training guide on top of her own responsibilities. Thanks for all you do, Jessica!
Here’s a little more about Jessica:
She has been working for Global Teletherapy for almost four years as an Occupational Therapist. She is also a Freelance Medical Editor for Crimson Interactive and American Journal Experts. Where she provides thorough copy editing services of research manuscripts prior to submission to peer-reviewed journals. She specializes in language edits for non-native English speakers. Her background in neuroscience research and as a healthcare provider has given her the passion and expertise to help polish each manuscript to near perfection prior to submission.
School of the Month
Columbus is a pleasure to work with. The therapists work hand in hand with the school and feel like a part of the student’s educational team. They are easy to work with because they are responsive and they are enjoyable to work with because they are friendly.
